“Becoming” is what we call our community groups here at TLC. These are small groups of 6–10 people who meet weekly to grow as all-in followers of Jesus—together.
Some groups start as a guided experience using resources like Rooted or Practicing the Way, giving everyone a shared starting point. From there, many groups continue meeting as an established group – choosing what to study and how they want to grow together.
No matter where you’re starting, Becoming groups are a place to build real relationships, grow in your faith, and take your next step alongside others.

Where will my group meet?
If you begin in a guided experience group, you and your group will decide where to meet. Some groups gather at the church, while others meet in homes. Paid childcare is available for groups that meet at the church.
Is there a cost to join?
There is a cost for the curriculum, and an additional cost if you choose to use provided childcare. However, we never want finances to get in the way of what God might want to do in your life - scholarships are available and can be requested during registration.
Is childcare available: Yes, childcare is available. Sitters are arranged based on those who request childcare during registration, and care is provided at the church during group meetings. This is available for guided experience groups, as well as for established groups that prefer the convenience of meeting at the church with childcare.

Yes, babysitters will be arranged based on participants who request childcare at the time of registration. Childcare will be provided at the church during all group meetings.
What if I can't make it to Week 1?
If you miss Week One, your group will be in contact with you and you can still join! For the best experience, especially in a guided group, we recommend not missing more than 2 weeks, so as not to “fall behind” in the curriculum. If your schedule requires you to miss more than two, feel free to jump in when the next session of guided Becoming groups start. Typically in January and September.
Is there an age limit for the group?
Becoming groups are for adults ages 18 and older. When you register, we take factors like life stage into consideration as we place you in a group.
What do I need to bring?
For guided Becoming Groups, everything you need will be provided at your first gathering. Your workbook includes the readings and guided content for the experience. Just plan to bring a Bible and something to write with - no prep needed before your first week.
